I keep getting thrown back by the wave when I punch out — what am I doing wrong?

Swipe up (or tap Punch) right when the breaking wave's lip turns gold, not before. Keeping an even left-right paddling rhythm beforehand also helps your boat carry more speed into the swipe.

The sea lion keeps taking my catch — how do I haul the net faster?

Drop the net directly over the shoal the pelicans are diving on, then swipe up or tap Haul as soon as possible. A sea lion that reaches the net before you finish hauling takes most of the catch.

My boat feels slower and soaks faster than before.

Every caballito wears out over a run — and faster if her binding was loose. Visit the Wachaque to cut and dry fresh reed, then bind a new boat. Tighter, steadier taps while binding make a boat that lasts longer.

How do I unlock Pimentel, Santa Rosa and Chicama?

Each spot up the coast unlocks once you've both ridden far enough at the spot before it and saved enough soles for the colectivo fare there. Check the Coast screen for each spot's exact requirement.

Does Huanchaco Swell have ads or in-app purchases?

No. There are no ads, no purchases and nothing to bet. Soles are earned only by fishing and riding well.

Where is my progress stored? Will I lose it?

Everything is saved locally on your device as you play. Reinstalling the app or erasing your device will reset it, since nothing is backed up to a server — there isn't one.
