Huanchaco Swell · Last updated October 2, 2026
Huanchaco Swell is a single-player game about paddling a reed caballito out through the surf at Huanchaco, Peru. It has no account system, no advertising, no analytics, and no server of its own. Everything you do in the game — your boats, your catch, your soles, your best rides — stays on your device. This page explains exactly what the app touches and why.
None of the above ever leaves your device. We cannot see it, and we have no way to retrieve it.
The postcard screen lets you put a photo of your own on the front of a postcard celebrating one of your rides.
Huanchaco Swell can send two kinds of local notifications, entirely generated and scheduled on your own device: one telling you that reed you hung out to dry is ready, and an optional daily "dawn report" at 7:00 if you turn it on in Settings. We ask for notification permission only at the moment one of these becomes relevant, never at launch, and the app works normally if you say no.
If you choose to share a postcard, the app opens Apple's standard share sheet. What you do with that sheet — messaging it, saving it, posting it — is entirely your choice and happens through Apple's own system, not through us.
Huanchaco Swell does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.
If this policy ever changes — for example if a future version of the app adds a feature that uses data differently — we will update this page and the "last updated" date above before that version ships.
Questions about this policy or the app can be sent through our support page, which has a short contact form.
